Sizing and cost

Couriers charge on the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight, which for most UK carriers is length by width by height in centimetres divided by 5000. A light product in an oversized box is charged as though it were heavy, so the single biggest saving in most despatch benches is dropping a box size rather than changing carrier. A despatch bench that works is the one where everything is within reach without turning round: box store under the bench, tape and fill at hand height, labels at the printer and the scale beside the label printer. Most benches lose more time to walking than to packing. We ask for your three commonest parcels before quoting a package, because the right box sizes save more than any discount on consumables.

Which quantity to buy

Delivered is delivered to your door. We sell despatch consumables by what they actually cost per parcel rather than by the price on the box, and every listing states the size the quantity and the cost per unit. If a smaller box would ship your product cheaper we would rather tell you than sell you the one you already order.
